fiber arts/needle felting
"Michelle Levesque who grew up in Hingham and now lives in Scituate with her family, specializes in needle felting -- a technique that condenses sheep’s wool into three-dimensional shapes using only a single barbed needle and incorporating lots of creativity and attention to fine detail.
Her soft-sculpture creations include finely-crafted tree ornaments, wall art, desktop figurines, and crib mobiles, which can be customized to make “truly unique, one-of-a-kind gifts,” Levesque said. Her work is sold under the “Sugar Beet Accessories” label.
Levesque chose that name because the initial reaction to her soft sculptures was that they are “so sweet,” she said with a smile. “I wanted a natural name with a natural feeling -- it all came together!”
